2013 College Football Megathread

I hate to disappoint, but I agree on a 9-3 record for the Weasels. The losses? MSU, Northwestern and Ohio State. The only MSU loss will be at Nebraska (we can't beat Nebraska). MSU over OSU in Indy. MSU over Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

Sanford vs the SEC Champ.

Why will MSU go 13-1? The defense will be better. And the offense can't possibly be as bad as it was last year.

Did I mention the schedule is WEAK?

you have MSU beating oregon, but not Nebraska

you have MSU beating oregon, but not Nebraska

MSU is 0-7 or 0-8 vs Nebraska and the game is in Lincoln. By the way, MSU plays Oregon the next two years...

If MSU goes 12-2, I'll take it.

MSU plays Purdue, Indiana and Illinios in the Leaders Division. You can throw a blanket over UM, Nebraska, Northwestern and MSU. I think MSU wins two out of three games. I worry more about Northwestern than I do Michigan. MSU is the only team with a defense. Northwestern and Michigan are more likely to run the ball (right into the Spartan defense). Iowa blows and Minnesota isn't ready for primetime. And like Shoestring, Braxton Miller hasn't done anything against MSU. Any offense and MSU would have beat both Michigan and OSU by two touchdowns. MSU's only question mark is tight end.

My predictions:

MSU vs WMU: W
MSU vs USF: W
MSU vs YSU: W
MSU @ ND: L
MSU @ IA: W not sure on this one...we should be the better team, but we don't play too well there
MSU vs IN: W
MSU vs Purdue: W
MSU @ IL: W
MSU vs UM: L I'm also unsure on this one. I think UM will be better this year, but we tend to play better against them, especially in EL
MSU @ Neb: L
MSU @ NW: W also might go either way, NW always seems like a trap to me
MSU vs MN: W

So that makes it 9-3. With some help, we have a good shot at the division title, then we would lose to OSU in Indy. I agree OSU's probably overrated at the moment, but idk if I see WI or Nebraska being that much better.

I say MSU goes 8/4 or 9/3. IA is the big question. Loses at ND, vs UM, at Nebraska

Realistically, if there is no improvement in the offense, MSU could be 7-5. I look at the big improvement in Dan Roushar not being offensive coordinator anymore. I don't want to see them lose a bunch of 10-9 games. Last year was too many field goals and not enough touchdowns.

For all of Le'veon Bell's running last year, MSU was 77th in rushing offense. With a healthy line, MSU will probably do better than 77. 1700 yards won't go to just one guy. The receivers will be better and Maxwell will be better. If he isn't, Cook and O'Conner will step in.

According to the depth chart, MSU's starting qb this season will be Andrew Maxwell OR Connor Cook OR Tyler O'Connor OR Damion Terry. Yup, 4 co-starters.

I'll be looking forward to the usual shit-slinging again this year. I'm ready to give, and receive, if necessary. Hard to say how the year will shape up for my squad....:dunno:

I never said MSU didn't have a front runner QB. Maxwell is the starter. But as a senior, Cook and O'Conner are going to play. You don't think other QB's are going to play at UM? Gardner's a senior as well.

Injuries always can effect the picks. If Gardner gets hurt, who's playing at UM? If Braxton Miller gets hurt, who leads OSU?

Not sure if any of you read Rolling Stone,
• In college his coach (then-University of Florida head coach Urban Meyer) may have helped cover up failed drug tests, along with two violent incidents — an assault and a drive-by shootout outside a local bar.
