2013 College Basketball Thread

Penn St showed up to play. WOW.. tied at the half. this should have been a blow out for M

Yeah Penn State came to play, but Michigan is also a flawed team in some ways so I wasn't really shocked. Despite how close the was I was glad to see Robinson FINALLY moving without the ball again and getting back involved in the game.

OSU got exposed.

I listened to the UM game today while driving back from Michigan. hence the reason I've not posted a word on the board since Tue of last week.

MSU showed up and Michigan didn't. Honestly the loss was what we needed and I'd rather have a blow out to a top 10 team then a unranked team. Now if only we'd start getting rebounds. I can't fathom who is not teaching these guys to box out. Boxing out would have had us as a win against OSU and IU. I don't forsee us suddenly learning this, but I can hope. Otherwise the final four will be our ultimate goal.

Damn....exposed is an understatement!! Maybe a good ass-whoopin' will wake them up. On a side note, in the future I'll try to refrain from posting here after imbibing in several margarita's. If Systemax302 hadn't quoted my bullshit, I'd have deleted it this morning. My apologies fella's.....:(

I agree totally, I've been complaining about our lack of defensive rebounding all season, even when we were still undefeated and flexing teams by 15 plus damn near every game I was hollering at my tv about poor rebounding. We are somewhat undersized for the most part at the 4 and 5 positions and the only way to help with that is to put a body on everyone and have team effort rebounding. A stop isn't a stop until you get the defensive board. I think part of our issue is having so many freshman in key roles. Seems to be a lack of fundamentals and execution to me. I was glad to see Robinson FINALLY moving without the ball again today though. He's been doing a lot of standing around lately.

Wow... Now I certainly wasn't expecting to hear that.

MSU is either #4 or #5 depending on which poll you like. Michigan is #7 in both polls. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Bring on the tourney.

Which part? The drinking part, or admitting that the Buck's took an ass-whoopin'?

C'mon....I'm not normally that abrasive..........

Your little apology is what surprised me. Being that it was a Saturday night I actually thought you might have been drunk when you typed that shit.
There's definitely no way to deny an ass whoopin like that. I wouldn't have dared try to deny my team got flexed by MSU last week either, I'd just sound like a fool.

Yeah your comments were around the 150 grit range I'd say, not quite like a roloc disk, but you were gettin there

Definitely gonna be a good game... I really can't pick a winner honestly. I think it could go either way by 6 points or less. I think IU may have the best team in the country, but there's also something to be said for home court, in the college game especially, the young kids really get fired up and the other teams never seem to handle it nearly as well as an NBA team would.
I will say if Oladipo doesn't play because of his ankle it would pretty much be a sure victory for Sparty, but as far as ankle sprains go that one didn't look too bad to me. Not like some where the bottom of the guys shin pretty much is touching the floor.:puke:
I don't sit down and watch many MSU games, but tonight is definitely an exception.

HUGE matchup tonight. Go Green!

There I fixed that for ya.
Whoever wins this game has the inside track to winning the Big Ten. Both MSU and Indiana have tough schedules the rest of the way though also, harder than Michigan's I think for sure. I still think we could have like a 4 team tie when the season ends with 4 loss teams. Given the remaining schedules I think tonight is a MUST WIN for MSU. Definitely have the hardest schedule to finish out of Indiana, MSU, and Michigan. I would say Michigan's is the easiest, we just went through the toughest stretch of our season. All our toughest games to finish are at Crisler.

I will deff be watching this one. It's going to be good. Hoping sparty can pull it off, and they damn should if they come out playing like they did against michigan. With that said, I do however think it's Indiana's game to lose, they're number 1, and have arguably the best team, MSU is just a number 4 and while they've been HOT lately if a #4 gets beat by the #1 it's not a huge deal. Wont help them with the B10 championship but I could careless about the big 10 if they can get to a NCG. With that said this is typical Izzo basketball. Play so-so with a few losses first half of the season and then come on strong in february and perform like they always find a way to in march.
