2013 College Basketball Thread

First real team Michigan has played and they're getting their asses kicked. I hope UM can make the tourney based on their body of work...Bwahahahaha!

We cut it to 12. Need to play better all around.

Yup. Played better at the end of the half to get it back in reach. If we come out this next half and play good fundamental basketball we'll walk away with a win.

Spike Albrecht playing like a starter to keep us in this! I've been a fan of McGary from the start of the season, he brings some serious energy from the bench and just plays to play!

An example of counting your eggs before they've hatched...

Lol. Interesting fact

Duke lost to NC state, that Michigan beat in the acc big 10 challenge, and Michigan lost to OSU, that Duke beat in the acc big 10 challenge.

It's one game. Plenty more hoops to play.

You mean to tell me you actually believe that had UM won that they wouldn't have been voted number 1? Undefeated and having just beat a top 15 team they would OBVIOUSLY be hopped over by any other team out there. Especially considering the team that beat the number one team lost to UM. We'll see just how well UM is when they face Minny next game.

Yep. The B1G is a tough conference this season. I expect UM to come out with 3 losses and a share of the title with IU.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. The simple fact is they didn't win. You have to take care of business. Instead they choked on Ohio St dick. I saw NOTHING to indicate at anytime that Michigan was #1. And during the 2nd week of January, who cares. Nothing matters but MARCH.

I wouldn't call losing at OSU by 3 points when you were down by 21 choking. choking is losing to Miami when you should easily destroy them.

It was a loss both on paper and in reality. The fact though that this was our first major team to play (NCST aside) I say we did very well. If this was at UM it would have had a completely different outcome. We'll see in a few week when OSU comes to town. Right now though we have a tough run heading to Min next. OSU on the other hand gets to play a lower half of the B1G team, so they shouldn't have too much of a problem with it, even if it is an away game.

We already know which 7 teams will represent the B1G in the dance (Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Minnesota and Illinois). What order or seed makes no difference.

By the way, the officiating was absolutely horrendous for that game. Not trying to make excuses as we should have just won without needing to worry about officiating interferrence, but both sides got some horrible miss calls.

Wow. Two Spartans get into a fight and coach benches them. Classy!

Michigan State didn't start guard Branden Dawson and center Adreian Payne at Penn State on Wednesday night because of a scuffle the two players were involved in earlier in the day at the Nittany Lion Inn, the school announced.

Coach Tom Izzo had planned to start Dawson, Payne and Derrick Nix in a big lineup against the Nittany Lions.
