2013 College Basketball Thread

I can't complain. I had us losing to Kansas, so we went much further than I thought when the tourney started. It's sad that bad officiating makes a great game a questionable one. I know it wasn't one sided, but when commentators are calling out horrible calls left and right and the majority of them are bad calls against Michigan. We did get out coached a little. Sitting Burke for as long as he did was a little questionable. I also wonder why these guys aren't taking it at people in foul trouble. Their entire starting line up was within 2 fouls of sitting the bench and it seems like we avoided going at them. We lose Burke and Hardaway to the Draft barring a miracle. I think we're an elite 8 team next year if that happens. Maturity comes from games like this and having played on the national championship stage is a big help. Should help recruiting, moral, and maturity of the team.

Good run for the wolverines. Further then expected. That wraps up the college hoops season. :(

but only 6 months and 2 days till midnight madness practice tipoff 2013-14 season. :)

It would be cool if the Louisville women's team wins tonight too. Winning both the men's and women's national titles in the same year would be quite the feat. But they're playing UConn, so probably ain't gonna happen.

last to do it was Uconn in 2004.

Keep in mind that Louisville won the BCS championship on new years day also..... I call that having a good first quarter, lol.

The 'way too early top 25' for next year has Ky as number 1 and Michigan unranked. Look, losing Burke will be huge, but it's questionable if Hardaway is going anywhere and it's not like the rest of the team didn't just get a shitton of experience playing through the touney to the Championship. That's insane. On top of that, KY loses in the first round of the NIT and are picked to win it all next year? That's pretty damn funny.

Burke has officially applied for the draft. No word yet on McGary or Hardway. Payne and Harris haven't made a decision either.

Guy I work with is friends with Harris and said he's not going to declare, obviously that can change. Burke going doesn't surprise me though I'd love for him to stay if anything, just to get his degree. I doubt McGary will go. He said once, he's not, but that was before he blew up in the Tourney. Hardaway is a toss up. I could go, but I feel that he'll want to stay a year and do like Burke, better his draft stock and lead the team.

hardaway doesn't need to leave. It's not like he needs the money. Same for Robinson. at least I would hope their dads were smart with their nba earnings

Hardaway wasn't nearly consistent enough to make a strong case for himself in the draft this year. Might as well come back and finish up at this point. McGary will play at least one more year at Michigan also I predict, same with GR3.

I would like it if Harris and Payne left, but I think they will both be back. Payne is being projected as an early 2nd rounder so I think he'll be back in EL next season. Harris is being projected as a mid 1st round pick so you never know... He could make the jump, but I doubt it.

Ridiculous. he's gonna be in the D League or Europe within 3 years. Let's see if Mcgary and Robinson announce as well. This whole team is falling apart for you guys.

Burke and Hardaway are replaceable based on our recruits. McGary and Robinson wouldn't be. I don't think McGary or Robinson are dumb enough to leave.

Mcgary and GR3 are returning. Michigan should be in contention for the B1G championship with MSU and possibly OSU (no word on who is leaving if anyone). Elite 8 should be the minimum depth into the tourney. Obviously this is way too early, but team looks like even with losing Burke and HJR we're good to go.

Whole team falling apart? I don't think I'd go that far. Hardaway was very hot and cold this season and didn't hardly ever play defense. I don't think he's irreplaceable by any means. Losing Burke will hurt sure, but when you have a player that good you have to expect you will lose them.
If any NBA team is foolish enough to draft Tim Jr. in the first round their scouts and GM should all be fired. Tim Jr. will never be more than a role player in the NBA.
