2013 College Basketball Thread

I'm sorry, I thought Michigan would have a chance to play Wisconsin on day two. But they are playing Penn St so it looks like one and done...

Yup. That's what I mean. Every time MSU loses, it's from the FT line and they choke. We just aren't consistent. I didn't expect to win, but that being said, when we're in the game and up by 4 with a minute left and get to the line 3 times, I expect to win.

Yeah no shit I expect to win too. That was also a terrible call on the breakaway for Robinson. Should have been 2 shots and the ball, but the refs didn't want to end the game, fuck that, call it by the book not by situation. I'm not saying that's the reason we lost, but it was still a shit call and helped IU majorly.

I think that tiebreakers affect tournament seeding, but not final regular season standings. Or at least that's what I've concluded from this weekend's events.

Well, the Buckeyes are the number two seed. Hell, I don't mind sharing #2 with Sparty. It's all good.

Even with a 4-way tie someone would have to be the #1 seed and someone would have to be #4. The big picture is that the top 6 teams are in. It really won't matter if Michigan loses to Penn St, they are in the tourney.

It will directly affect their seeding in the tourney. RIght now UM is a solid 2 seed. If the rest of the world collapses they could be a 1, but that isn't happening. They lose to PSU and they drop to probably a 3 seed or maybe a 4 depending on how everything plays out.

I don't worry about the seeding. To win a NC, you have to beat 6 teams. The real season starts next Sunday night with the selection show. I'm not worried about seeding. A team is good enough to win 6 games or they're not. I think MSU is good enough to win 6 games. I'm not saying they will, but they're good enough. Let the season begin.

By the way, one of the talking heads said he thought the only two B1G teams that stood a chance of winning the whole thing was Indiana and MSU.

Some douchebag Walmart wolverine called into valenti and foster and stated that Michigan lost intentionally because they didnt want to share the title with MSU and Ohio State. That's why Burke and hardaway missed the free throws at the end

That's just absurd... and the exact reason you can't take most of the callers on sports radio shows seriously. Those call in sports radio shows attract the dumbest and most outspoken 1% of people from all different fan bases. Sure there are some people who know what's goin on that call in, but the vast majority of callers represent a very small minority within each teams fan base.

Probably right about that. I'd love for Michigan to win, but I know enough about basketball to know that they can't get it done. No way they can win 6 games in a row giving up 15+ offensive boards a game, even though their very low amount of turnovers helps to offset that issue some it simply can't be done IMO.
