2011 LOLions predictions

They beat Chicago once this season....

yeah and got absolutely destroyed in the other one. My point being we have a hard time with the better teams for whatever reason. Just makes me think we can and will make the playoffs, but I dont know that we win a game..

They were in SF and ATL game despite playing terribly.

they still lost. thats kinda my point, not saying they can't beat the good teams, just saying they dont. they can come from behind against Carolina, Minn, etc its just irritating to see them not be able to beat a good opponent.

Thursday should be a great game but GB just looks to perfect right now.Prediction 31-21 GB :( I do think lions make playoffs now that cutler is out and will go 10-6 and lose to NEW ORLEANS in the first round, hope im wrong though.

*cough* *cough* 4 interceptions

The defense kept them alive, just like they did this week. Which is surprising because their rushing defense flat out stinks. They seem to come through on 3rd and 4th downs, though.

Which was an aberration, and he followed it up with 5 TD's the next week.

People are really pumped to get on the internet and say "See this guy sucks! I told you!" in the 1st quarter when things aren't going right, but can't handle saying the dude is good when he rips off a damn near perfect game the rest of the way out.

I think this is the first time I've seen you use the wrong form of 'same sounding' word.

How many of those do you think wouldn't have been thrown by every other quarterback in the league? You're giving him too much credit.

Perfect Lions fan. Every other player is capable of doing the same thing when anything goes right, player is shit when anything goes wrong.

There's only 2-3 QB's with a better TD/INT ratio. Why not ask the same question about the INTs? You're not giving him enough credit.

So you're saying you wouldn't take any QB in the league who has a worse ratio than Stafford?

No, I'm saying it's ridiculous to say any QB in the league could have thrown the pass when he makes a TD (only Aaron Rodgers has more), and say that he sucks because he's thrown a couple interceptions when virtually the entire league does it more frequently vs. the TDs they throw.

Again, 23 yr old QB. 7-3 team. 25 TD's 10 games in.

I said he wasn't any good before interception-fest. He looks lost out there. Remember those hilarious attempts at a game-saving drive at the end of the 49ers and falcons games?

If Matt Stafford isn't any good, I'd hate to see what you think of about 25 of the other starting QB's in the NFL.

He hasn't even played 2 full seasons and he's already one of the better QB's in the league.

Suh, Vanden Bosch, Raiola, I want to be a Lions fan, but god damn Lions fans are irritating. I never noticed it until I really made an attempt to pay attention to the team. A 7-3 team is a good team. It's the NFL, top teams are an injury away from being bottom teams. It's a league full of parody. The difference between good teams and bad teams on the field really isn't huge. And closing out games is part of what makes a good team good. Carolina has been up big on lots of teams this year only to lose the game. They're a decent team but just don't know how to close out games. I'd rather have the Lions that get off to slow starts and come back in the second half and win. Stop trying to find faults and just enjoy having a good, winning team.

Where do you rank him? Top 5? Top 10?

Guys I'd clearly rather have today:

Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Tom Brady
Ben Roethlisberger
Peyton Manning

Guys there is an argument for:

Manning
Vick
Rivers
Schaub
Cutler

Other than that, would you really rather have Tony Romo? Alex Smith? Matt Sanchez? Joe Flacco? Matt Cassel? Tim Tebow?

Stafford is young, has a big arm, and I think he's a winner.

The first 5 you listed all make sense. I'd take Stafford over Eli, Vick, Rivers, Schaub or Cutler ANY day. Rob is crying about Stafford's 4 INT game? Rivers does that every other week!

ok?

Lions gave up 200 yards of total offense in that game. The Lions beat themselves. The other two games against SF and ATL could have gone either way because that's how close they were.

Cutler's the only one in teh second list I would keep over Stanford.
