And because the SEC is a bunch of dirty rotten mother fuckers.

They'll offer scholarships to 15 kids, when they only have 9 to pass out for example. They'll take scholarships away from kids who don't preform. They'll also give half scholarships to kids. They're pieces of shit, the worse kind of people.

Big 10 schools on the other hand, will use almost all of their scholarships and then usually give the last couple to walk ons. ( This is one of the reason Ohio State and Jim Tressle is such a piece of garbage, because the people who are going to pay the most are the kids and family's of walk ons that would have gotten a full ride.) Look at Michigan for example. During the Dick Wad era they offered scholarships to a few kickers, they were horrible, but they kept their scholarships. If it was Alabama they would have lost their scholarships.

Until this is leveled out, you're going to see SEC teams get better recruits. That's the main reason they get better recruits.

interesting read....

I found it interesting how the Big 10 grouping landed together in the manner they finished in the Big Ten standings.

I don't know why Nebraska was still ranked, maybe there was just no one else remotely worthy of ranking? I guess, North Dakota State got AP votes so it must have just been that bad. Not sure how Oklahoma ends up on top of K State there.

I suppose. I just felt that they played at a lower level than MSU and UM. All 3 teams lost games they shouldn't have, but I guess that's the whole league this year.

Yep, Texas could do this oversigning bullshit and be just like the SEC, but they dont. Oversigning is such shit, it literally eliminates "bad" recruiting classes.

It kind of surprises me that it doesn't backfire and lose them recruits. Why would you go some place knowing you might lose your scholarship like that?

any school can pull a scholarship its a deal kids can walk away from the school why can't the schools cut ties with kids who aren't living up to their end of the deal? They aren't contracts, ncaa football is a business programs are there to make money if a employee isn't living up to his or het endof the bargain they have to go

What it does is hoard talent. Every kid thinks he's going to play in the next level when they go to college. If a player busts his ass and isn't as good as the other 7 linebackers (because someone will be 7), has he not done what he was brought in to do? Yes, they are scholarships given out by semester, but this also isn't the NFL. These are students. Not pro players.

Those 30 'recruits' are then going thru tryouts during spring practice to make the team. If not given a bogus scholarship, that player could take one at another school in the Big 12, B1G, ACC, etc, by a team that would actually honor it's scholarships. This needs to be a level playing field, not just for the schools involved, but for the students as well.

Oh, and fuck Nick Saban...

schools have done this for years the employees know this going in make the kids stay 4 years and the schools employ them for 4 is the omly way to level the field

Yeah see but that's where you're wrong. They could do it, but do they? NO. Only SEC teams do that shit, because SEC teams don't give a fuck about things like academics or helping their kids get a good education. It's all about winning.

Fuck Alabama, fuck Nick Saban, and fuck the SEC.

I'm not going to research it, but I'm sure it wouldn't take long to find a good number of 4 or 5 star recruits that turned into academic all americans. Although i'm sure those aren't the ones playing in the SEC.
