My 2002 mustang gt lost all forward an reverse power while leaving a stop light under light acceleration. This happend in front of a gm dealership so I decided to use their service center to inspect the issue. They had the car for 5 days then called saying it was internal to the trans and would require a complete replacement. When I went to pick up the car I asked what inspection tests were performed being that the car was in exactly the same spot at the exact angle I parked it 5 days prior. they said they sent a technician to look under the car, start and run through the gears then push it back and forth a little. That inspection was able to provide enough information to deem the complete transmission a failure an charge me $80 for the procedure. Is their anyone willing to take on the job? I would need an inspection on trans and rear end. I would like to find out exactly what's wrong before I start throwing thousands of dollars at it. if it turns out I do need a complete remove and replace I am able and willing, just looking for a few shops who would be able to quote a remove and replace job with new converter an warranty. Looking to have done in next week and car would need to be picked up from westland.
P.s. also looking for a quote to replace all bearings in my 8.8 and maybe swap stock gear with 4:10s. I have all rear end parts already so only quote laber/shop fees. Looking for trans and rearend work to be done in the same visit. Please quote trans and rear separately . If interested in taking the job lmk.
