I know this isn't a motorcycle forum but I'm sure many have experience with or around motorcycles. I'm looking at 2004-2007's. Price range less than $6500. The 2004-2005 zx10r has a solid motor but apparently it's volatile characteristics hardly make it a user friendly bike. I'm still drawn in by the power aspect (drag racing). My second choice is a 2006-2007 CBR1000rr. I like the fact that it comes factory with a steering dampener and it gets great reviews about making the rider look good and feel comfortable. It lags behind on the top end in comparison to the zx10r but the all around catagory might pursuade that viewpoint. The gsxr1000 is a great bike but they're hard to find as cheap since they dominated the field through 2001-2007. They apparently had a recall on 2005-2006's for a frame issue. The r1 looks good but it lacks the punch that the rest have to offer. Your thoughts? I know there will be some 600cc fans that will chime in and I'm not ruling that out but insurance is only $8 more a month for a 1000cc and they're not that much more expensive. I think if I picked up a 600cc I would track it and but if I go with the 1000cc I'll probably drag it.
