ZL1: Chevrolet Camaro

I would expect that the ZL1 will probably actually show up with more like 575 hp. I wouldn't think it would cross 600 just to stay away from outperforming the Corvette.

Either way... :icon_bigg

Doubt it, its based on the cts-v platform, so expect 556hp.

Will they manage to get it under 4,000lbs? It seems to me it would be smarter to take shit off the car to make it perform better than adding shit to it. Seems to work for the Italians and Germans.

I think the reason there is no curb weight or pricing tells the story - GM is waiting to see how much exotic material usage is feasible (always have to appease finance) to drop weight, and it needs to be justified in the business case. No doubt this pig is going to weigh a hefty sum close to 4 bills considering the blower and acc. weight. But if a CTSv runs 12.2 @122 stock and well into the 10s with bolt ons and sticky tires at over 4,000 lbs, you can see it wont matter much! Hmm, carbon ceramic brakes are light....throw those on there!

This time next year....they will sell more ZL1's and they should be a couple of tenths faster in performance.

This time next year they might just be hitting dealerships! Should be faster? Let's see what comes up between now and then. The Z28/ZL1 was the worst kept secret GM had in it's stable, and now that it's (finally) introduced, others will step up to challenge (and beat) it.

That thing's gotta weigh damn near 4400 lbs with all the extra stuff on it. Blower, IC, bigger wheels/tires, more body cladding...that all adds up.

I am actually shocked to see all the technology - especially the Magnetic shocks. I agree though, it is probably on the heavy side!

I wonder if they have had it at The Ring in Germany yet? I wonder how it did on times.

did it say how many produced, or is it intended to be a regular production car? I don't think they would want to publicly be faster then a vette, they'd either have to sell it for the same $$$ or detune it....
sounds interesting though....

Wow, it even looks heavy in that video. Oh well, I wont be buying one, but its nice that GM is making them, same with SRT8's. Long live musclecars and competition. If this keeps up, we'll all have 1100hp rides that get 45mpg by 2025

I sure hope It's under-rated like LS F-Body engines were. No reason why it shouldn't make the same power as a ZR1 Vette. Fingers crossed!

wont make the power of a ZR1 with the 1900 blower rotors. could go faster buying a SS and a TVS 2300.

yeah except for the fact that the LSA's have smaller intercoolers and less boost, but no reasons other than those
