I built and put a motor in a friends notch to get some miles on it before it went to the track I drove it to work on a friday when I was still working afternoons. On the way home I took telegraph, it was a gorgeous night and I figured there might be some people out to bullshit with at OCB.
As I passed joy rd I seen a guy from work and we chit chatted for a second driving next to each other then went seperate ways, I glanced over my shoulder to see a Redford cop a lane over an a few cars back.
Didn't think much of it as I was being good, well right as you hit michigan theres a nice lil stretch you can get on it pretty safely. Not even thinking about the cop I slowed to about a 30 roll dropped it in second and stuffed it, put a hurting on the radials, stayed in it thru second pull third prob counted 2-3 seconds then let off and coasted down to the speed limit.
Turned in to the median to go east on Van born and see lights in the mirror, it was the cop from earlier he was behind me the whole time.
I pulled into murry's shut off the car ect... He comes to the window and said "what the fuck was that horsehit!" I appologized, explained I had just put the new motor in it and that I wanted to make sure all was well before taking it to milan tomorrow.
He then told me it was not acceptable to make test passes on telegraph, asked for reg and ins proff which i didnt have, lucky i knew how to spell the owners last name (its non generic) and he believed I actually knew the owner and didnt tow the car.
He said he would let me go on one condition that I buy him a beer at the end of his shift tomorrow, I kindly agreed(while thinking whats teh catch here to myself) and asked how we will go about doing so. He said he was working security at the milan for the friday nights heads up tomorrow, He said he would find me in the pits lol..
Which he did we bullshited for about two or three hours thru out the night, drank a few beers and talked racing; ended up being awesome guy.
