He trucks them up every summer after the last frost and back before the first frost in the fall. I've never heard of such a palm tree that will survive a Michigan winter, although winter has been very mild latley.

You are half right for once. He doesn't truck them back down though. He has a large heated warehouse where they spend the winter.
