It started out with pulling the dash to put a new A/C evap core in. Then I found a couple of little rust spots at the joint between the firewall and floor pan. Typical, right? So, I pull ALL the factory sound deadner panels.
Next thing I know... I'm under the car working on patching the 2 rust spots I found. The rest of the pans looked great! From the inside, anyway. As I'm under the car, I start noticing a lot of surface rust. And it ticks me off. Next thing I know...
French dictator syndrome: "Napoleon Blownapart"
Then it's on the dolly and on it's way out for sandblasting:
All the surface rust spots got ground and treated with Eastwood rust converter. All the torque boxes got welded up, lots of welding around the frame rails:
Full-length frame connectors went in there too.
After all that, it's time for paint. The black stuff is the Eastwood converter, there's some self-etch on there in spots.
Went with DP50, then Shopline single stage urethane.
That's a MUCH better place to work!!!
THAT was all the easy stuff!! NOW it all has to be cleaned, and re-assembled!! Parts are on-the-shelf for SN95 / Cobra brake upgrade, Eibach springs, Budget calls for a STOCK K member at this time.
More as I get things done. Open for project names!! THAT opens the door!!
