It started out with pulling the dash to put a new A/C evap core in. Then I found a couple of little rust spots at the joint between the firewall and floor pan. Typical, right? So, I pull ALL the factory sound deadner panels.

Next thing I know... I'm under the car working on patching the 2 rust spots I found. The rest of the pans looked great! From the inside, anyway. As I'm under the car, I start noticing a lot of surface rust. And it ticks me off. Next thing I know...

Then it's on the dolly and on it's way out for sandblasting:

All the surface rust spots got ground and treated with Eastwood rust converter. All the torque boxes got welded up, lots of welding around the frame rails:

Full-length frame connectors went in there too.

After all that, it's time for paint. The black stuff is the Eastwood converter, there's some self-etch on there in spots.

Went with DP50, then Shopline single stage urethane.

THAT was all the easy stuff!! NOW it all has to be cleaned, and re-assembled!! Parts are on-the-shelf for SN95 / Cobra brake upgrade, Eibach springs, Budget calls for a STOCK K member at this time.

More as I get things done. Open for project names!! THAT opens the door!!

OMG Greg.....what did you do? HAHA looks like you pulled ah.....ah.........."ME" lol
Looks great so far.......keep the updates/pics comin'.

BTW, Bodywork is complete on the cobra (straight as an arrow)..........on to prime& paint but then it may sit idle for a few months while i play with the new notchback. haha

Glad that Cobra is working out for you! Did you stay with the Pacific Green, or go with something else?

Parting out any more SN95 cars?? Know where there's a body?? Call or PM me...

if its not a full blown race car get the underside rhino lined or sem makes a rubber coating like rhino liner would make the bottom bullet proof

It will be a street car, but I wanted something I could wipe clean. A lot of my mis-spent youth was under various racecars. I miss that kind of surface. I can always put something like you suggest over it after I realize I can't stand the noise and chips.

About Time!!!!! I will get that K member to you shortly as well. Congrats on the new thread!
Yeah I know!! I'll be handing that K over to either C&S or Dynasty next week for powder coating. Figure to wrap up the Mega Mat tomorrow night. The kid has a LOT of parts to clean!! Like MONTHS worth!!

It would be alot easier to do it now as the suspension is out of the way efisixpack a member here did the underside of a truck in sem stuff looks badass and rises off with a hose

You sure have me thinking about it. I'm thinking one of those DIY bedliner kits from Rhino. Like you said, while all the stuff is out of the way. Even the brake and fuel lines are gone right now...
