1.6 is set to release with no changes but the 0800 enable mode which lets you make backups with your dvd-rom. Nothing is set to changed with the firmware itself.

Just had Dan flash my drive. Super fast and super easy. Works great too. He's got my vote for Dan of the Year.

How can I verify this?

I think my xbox was manufactured in 07, but its been in for a RROD fix as well.

edit: looks like i'll have to crack it open. Is it the 79s you can't do?
