X-mas Gifts for your significant other???

Looking into Lap Tops. I don't know what kind or model yet, but she usually only watches hulu, checks e-mail and facebook and pays bills. So I'm not going Mac Book or anything but she is in desperate need of a new computer.
 
Gift question.......my daughter made a nice self portrait in art class and I bought a matte & frame for it. Should it be a gift for my daughter who made the portrait, or a gift for her Mom? Mom thinks I bought the matte & frame to give to our daughter, but it's hidden and will be forgotten by Christmas. Who should get the gift?
 
You'll be competing with my brother at that time Personally, I am hoping for another 32 oz Slurpee under the tree this year.
