for an ls1 car. let me know of ANYTHING. that you or someone you know might have please. thanks!!

did you break the case or something? or did you have an auto
they are not hard to rebuild

case is not broken, the trans will not accept third gear, unless you play with it for a few seconds, and it grinds and grinds real bad, so i usually dont even try. and then if it DOES take 3rd gear, it will spit it back out randomly at different rpms. sometimes it grinds going into 4th as well. the trans makes a ton of noise on decel, and 4th gear also grinds sometimes. and the shifter feels incredibly sloppy while its in gear, if its in first gear, the shifter will still move back and forth and a lil bit up and down (like front to back of car motion) it does not feel good at all.

i know NOTHING and i mean NOTHING about transmissions, so rebuilding it seems like the last ditch effort. and i would like to have a trans before woodward.

bent shift fork, worn synchros and bad bearings, probably $100-150 in parts

sounds like the keys are broken to me
if you stopped as soon as that happened the sycro's /slider and gear should be ok.
the nylon shift pads are probably broken too.
once you get in there you may need to replace a few hubs and or gears though. don't force 4th cause that is like 175-its the input shaft
I may actually have some of the parts to rebuild it
this is from the time I took mine apart for a slight mod
