wtb saturn 1.9 dohc engine

95's and up have the better ring package that helps with the oil buring problem.

i got one at parts galore last year for $170 I tore it down and went through it but it would have just ran fine. try them or LKQ .

parts are also fairly cheap. all they ever need is rings and a timing chain the rest can be reused as long as it dint run low on oil but still even the bearings are cheap.

its the 92's that are the best because they have the thicker ring lands ;)

kinda looking for a spare engine pretty much because i plan on trying 12psi here in the spring currently running 8 for about a year now.

but the chance of me finding a low mile 92 is slim to none, i figured parts galore would be cheap, its about a 40min drive tho.

whats LKQ?

the newer one take a thicker ring than the older thats why the ring lands are thicker one the pre 95's. i always use the newer pistons if the engine needs them. they went that route to reduce oil burning problems

id be getting some forged pistons for that much boost Diamond can make you some.Id also think about studding the mains. The studs will clamp it better and protect those threads in the aluminum block that crank might want to push out the bottom with almost twice the amount of power.

lkq is a scrap yard that sells all sourts of parts. they are probally the best to get a engine from. if your just looking for a core to build i wouldnt go through them

this is my 2nd turbo saturn my last one was a 92 didn't burn a drop of oil and had 130k on it, ran 10psi on it for about a year then sold the kit so i'm not worried about forged pistons just yet

wheres lkq located?
