WTB: Fox 5 Lug conversion

looking for all the parts to convert my 4 lug 4 cyl car over to 5 lug

matt, i'd suggest finding some v-8 spindles on e-bag or something. or maybe trading your 4cyl spindles for the v-8 type. i believe dave at teamz likes to use the 4-cyl spindle. he might even have a set for you. once you have the spindle, just buy 88 mark vii non abs rotors. they'll go right on. for the rear, your building a good rear end anyway, so just buy a 5-lug axle. if you use stock rear brakes, just buy a ranger 9" drum.

or late-model restoration sells a whole kit fairly cheaply using a stock -clip axle.

I will have 94+ spindles. I have 99-04 PBR dual piston calipers from a GT/V6 that are lighter and better than 94-98 calipers.

This is the best front 5 lug conversion. You can run ANY 17-18 inch Mustang wheel without spacers, and without poking a hole in the center cap.

Mark Vii stuff will force you to pop holes in the center caps in most wheels.

do you want stock brakes or big SN95 stuff? I have 13" fronts and 11.65 rears and allot of good stuff to match if your interested.

really? these looked the same. these are mark vii, not mark viii, on a stock fox v8 spindle. guess i'll need to check closer.....

A ton of guys make HUGE power on 4 lug without issue, in case your doing it for the "power" factor. For looks, the 5 lug offers a lot more choices...

what happened to that kit mentioned above that you were going to buy?

i got front spindles/2 piston alum calipers/pads/rotars/lines from an 03 if your interested pm me. $200 obo painted red w/black brackets ready to be bolted up

Yes. The center caps on certain wheels will not fit on the wheel because they hit the dust cap. Go with 94-95 spindles.

This is a good deal here...^^...You can use 96-04 spindles, they increase the track width on the front 13mm from a stock fox body, forcing you to keep 17X8 wheels. 17X9's with a 275-40 tire will stick out up front with 96-04 spindles.

94-95 spindles are the key. They only increase the track width 5mm over a stock fox body. 17X8 wheels are best fit again. 17X9's will still stick out, but NOT nearly as much...actually 8mm less.

If you plan on running 17X8's up front with a +30mm offset, pick up 428CI's parts. If you want a 17X9 wheel, you can still but his parts, but you should run an 05+ wheel which has +45mm offset.

Yeah I picked up turbo 428s front end setup. I am running 17x8 '01 Cobra polished 5 spokes so its no problem.

Still looking for a rear end setup though. One thing though is that I dont want the front to be wider than the rear.

When I order my k member, can They sell me different upper/lower arms to tuck them back in to the stock width?

Okay, you're good then with an 17X8 Mustang wheel. But....using Ranger axles which are still fox length, the front wheels will be out 13mm more than the rear but only if you are using the same size 17X8 wheel in the rear. You can solve this problem very easily though. Just run some 17X9's with a 285, or a 17X10.5 back there with a 275 M/T, or a 315 Nitto and it will look perfect.

how wide of a tire can a fox fit in the wheel well?

There is a guy on Corral who has a notch with 17X10.5" FR500 wheels and a 275 M/T, with fox length axles. The 275 Mickey sits perfect on the wheel and right to the edge of the well. It's sick.

Also, 17X10 Pony R wheels with a 315 Nitto fit too. No mini tubs, just remove the quad shocks, and MAYBE beat the inner frame rail in a little....see my next post below.
