WTB: 4l80e 2wd

I'm sure there are a ton of different variations.

I intend on putting it behind a 396, replacing a th350. In a first gen camaro.

Been talked out of a 700r4 and am told the 4l80 is the way to go.
Of course this will hinge on if I can retain my stock shifter. ( still looking into it. ) but I wanted to get a head start in the swap.

I have a rebuildable core, 1996 vintage, was behind a 5.7, so will bolt up 100%, no torque converter

would this be something you'd be interested in? for the right price of course


and as for the shifter, afaik, its the same spacing as a 700r4/4l60e, so you would need the aftermarket 4 gear gate to be able to use the 1st gear position on the shifter
 
I've read both sides. It will and won't. I don't really care about putting it in first as long as I can keep the shifter.

Let me ask around what a rebuild will cost.

i have a friend who has one ready to go minus the convertor for $1000 he rebuilds trans so this is freash with a warrnty.
