Wrecked Viper seen on a truck

the other day in the 696/Telegraph area along with some other repairables aboard. Wonder who's driving their black RT/10 in this weather?

Anyone know who owned it etc?

Well, I was wondering which one. Maybe I could sell the buyer my Viper hood ?

- If someone paid $30K for a wrecked RT that's too high I'd say btw.

depending on the year, the front clams shell costs more than the engine. If it's damaged, that significantly factors in to the "totaled" calculation.
A "minor" front end collision will total a Viper. Those hoods are not cheap and with the current market value on the cars, insurance co.'s are much more likely to scrap them.

The cheapest clamshell hoods were the Gen 1 hoods like mine at $12,000ea.

Those are no longer produced nor available new, and the Gen 2 hoods with the louvers and NACA duct start at $16,500 unpainted from Dodge parts.

Ive been keeping my eye out for a 96-99 GTS for a long time now. As soon as a nice one pops up local for under 35k i'm all over it

Front bumper cover for a 96 is 12.5k hood is 19k. Adds up really quick on these, those two parts are almost what you'd pay for a running driving car.

A friend of mine bought a totalled 98 GTS and it was very lightly hit in the front right side. Its been sitting in his shop apart for 5 years, just now getting all the pieces to get it back together. His is worth fixing though as it was a test mule for the Viper racing team and has some :secret: mods done to it.

There are tons out there in that price range.

I am on the hunt for a '98-'02 GTS.

not really at all that i've seen at all.....maybe something with like 50k miles. I want to go 99 or earlier because those came with the forged pistons....and plan on boosting it one day
