My experience with mopar/jeep service so far is HORRENDOUS. It's pathetic. Inept, full on retarded.
I'm looking for a number to call Chrysler corp and complain. 1000 miles on my jeep and it's been in 3x for the SAME EXACT problem. I even printed out the jeep repair manual, ordered the REQUIRED parts, left them on the passenger seat, instructed the service writer.
Didn't touch what I left and SURE AS FUCK DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM!!!
I have more miles on enterprise loaner vehicles in the month I've "owned" my jeep than the jeep has on it!!
They probably last forever in ideal conditions (guy on hellcat.org has 200+ passes) but an inconsistent track can mean dead-hooking one pass to wheel-hop the next which I think is what kills them quickly. What is causing these shafts to fail in the field? Are they just weak?
Turns out it's actually part of the fuel tank assembly. Common part with any LA ('15+ Challenger). I have a lead on one from a junkyard so we'll see how that goes.
Couldn't find any heat shields listed on there. I was able to grab one from a junkyard.Rockauto?
