I'm not one to bash someone personally or a business, but I needed to vent. More to follow tomorrow once I see what they do
So here is the story. thus far... I went late last week to look at a Shelby from a local dealer (wont say which one, dont want to bash them) I dorve the car for 45 min, car ran great and had very little issue. Only issue was the front bumper chin spoiler was beat up from either a driveway or parking block. The car had 18544 miles on it. The price was good, the est payment was good, and the price for my vette was outstanding. I went ahead and moved forward with the credit app on Thursday of last week, he said he would have the deal done by Monday this week as he was out of town on Friday, no bid deal as it was WW weekend. He calls me Monday, Deal is all set, when do I want the car... I said if you can bring it to me, Ill take it Tue or Wed, whichever works for you, is fine with me. Last night at 7 pm he has DRIVER bring me the car. I look the car over, all looks good except for the shit job they did detailing it (looked like a $2 car wash job) tire shine all down the side, windows nasty, etc etc... Not a big deal as I was going to do all this.. So im happy with the outside, I move to the inside. I start the car, look at the miles and say ' what the fuck???" I look at my phone with the pic of the miles, the car now has 677 more mile then it did the week prior when I moved forward with credit app. I call the salesman, he says, BRO....Its a used car, what do you expect? I said used car, yea used car that I am buying, that you were holding as I had credit app on. He never asked for a deposit, and when I asked, he said... You have credit app in on the car, its your car... So, I ask again, were did the mile come from? He tells me, a guy came in Friday and was interested in the car and a another salesman let him take it for 4 hours. 4 hours 700 miles?? Try agian... He states.....Let me find out and call you back... Calls me back... Ok, the saleman let a interested party take it over night. I say....So, someone took a car im buying over night and put 700 miles on it? He says, bro....fuck it, you dont want it, dont buy it.... I tell him, let me walk around the car 1 last time and call you back. While doing so, and paying extra attenion to the car, I see where someone rolled back into soemthing and the dealer tried to fix it (this was not like this last week) I call him back again, I have no idea what your talking about, just dont buy the car... I said...This is BS and you can keep the car its on its way back after having him act like an ass for 2 hours.
I have heard from the owner today, they are trying to figure out or put together a story that can fix all this. I told him, I want the car for 0 down and the same payment that it was with 2k down as I need to now pay to have the bumper fixed the correct way and I need to be taken care of for the 700 miles that was put on the car....
I am awaiting an answer to my concerns, we shall see what happens!!!!
Sorry for the long post. I had to vent! In over 45 car deals, never had this happen or have salesman say "FUCK IT!!! DONT BUY IT THEN" Mind you, they ran my credit 6 times, I have insurance on the car, and I already took items off my vette!!!!
UPDATE* afternoon Voicemail from Salesman... Spoke to owner, we feel really bad about what happend. Will will give you the car with 0 down and a $500 check toward the reapir of the bumper. Feel free to take the car to the dealer of your choice to have it inspected before purchase. I have not called him back yet...
