**Woodward Dream Cruise Parking Aug. 15 2015**

I was on the fence for buying a spot, glad I didn't. Blew a head gasket on Wed night, and I still don't have it running today. Well got it running yesterday but nothing was right at all. Never even made it out this year, and it was disappointing because I put a lot of work into the car this year to have it ready for WWDC.
 
Good times. Thanks for letting me park in the grass. Let me know and I will paypal the club for dues and MM.

I didnt know they could kick you out of a "private" lot

Did anyone get into any trouble?

My facebook news feed was littered with photos of tickets etc for pretty much anything and everything

They technically can't but I didn't feel like going to jail last night to prove a point. It IS private property and i have a signed contract with the property owner that states the lot is ours until noon today. After they "charged" into the lot yelling and screaming that it was time to go, the first officer ran right to me and got in my face and shoved me with his chest. I'm sure quite a few of you still there saw this, he basically said what are u going to do about it and we can always see what the judge has to say about it on Monday morning. Complete unprofessional behavior on his/their part and he should have never put his hands on me. It could have been as simple as hey guys we need to shut it down soon and give people time to pack up etc. Luckily we'd already taken most things down and had them packed up. Looking back, I wish I would have gotten a name/badge #. I will be contacting the city of Huntington Woods police department on Monday morning. There's a right way and wrong way for them to do their job, we're a pretty mild group by the end of the evening so it's not like we're causing a public disturbance. Anywho, just wrapped up cleaning stuff up and repacking things for next year, hope everyone had a great time!

Made one lap yesterday and I have to say while it's a nearly impossible task, it would be nice if there was more enforcement of a gentleman's agreement on what kind of cars the cruise is really for. Way too many giant hillbilly trucks in the right lane (which block the view of everyone spectating when they stay there), ghetto hoopties, rust buckets etc. The daily drivers are one thing, but it's the cars that bring increasingly bigger crowds of dumb shit nobody wants to see that think they are an attraction that threaten the whole notion of the dream cruise. Grandpa in his 50s T-Bird probably ain't having a great time idling next to Cletus in his lifted diesel, getting his face turned to ash at 5 mph for 30 minutes. Ditto for the kid in the Blazer with the sub wall participating in a one man DB contest you can't escape.

Seems like it gets worse every year. Would be a bummer if the codgers in the 50s-60s-70s iron stopped showing because they became a sideshow.
 
I think most of the nice cars parked yesterday and all the asshats ran free on WW. But, DBK pretty much nailed it with all that is wrong with the cruise. Add the police BS/money grab for tickets and it can get lame pretty quick. Im not sure if anyone else saw the few cops standing on rooftops around 12 mile searching for burnouts.... that was a new one for me to see

The one cop I spoke to THE FAT ASS ONE started bitching at me saying were a problem every year ? I looked at him and laughed and asked what trouble are we causing ? Then I explained we rent the lot for 48 hrs and how would you feel if after 36 hrs you were told to leave other wise your going to jail ? He told me he knows the property owner and will have a talk with him about not having us back next year! I'd be more than willing to sign a complaint over their Stormtrooper tactics.
