i still dont think there should be any sponsors. hopefully im not alone in this.

Id personally love to see everyone stop cruising on Woodward and goto somewhere the cops dont mind cruising. Royal Oak, Berkley and Birmingham hate cruisers, yet love to rake in the cash during dream cruise week.

I want to organize an M59/Hall Road Dream Cruise, its a much nicer stretch of road with plenty of parking along both sides and tons of room in the middle for people to sit, plus it doesnt turn into a parking lot and cause the cool stuff to overheat

Also, does Motor City hope to have an event from it? Seems wierd sponsoring an event when youre based in a city that 90% of the cruisers wont dare take there cars into

They're not in a bunch. I just don't want to see shirts where you can't even fit the name of the event across the front is all. :lol:

I will be out cruising regardless of who is sponsoring it. I could care less who it is. But thanks to them for stepping up. But as Steve said, we'd all be out there regardless of a corporate sponsor or not. You think if they 'cancelled' it due to no sponsorship it would stop? I think not. I know all the locals would just be out there with our own BBQ's and chairs anyway. Hell my friends from NY would still come out to be part of it too. I was just stating that I don't see why they have to make a big deal out of it is all. Just an observation I had.

Ok, what is Motor City going to be paying for? What are they providing for the parade and classic cars? Gas? Seriously, does driving your car on a street really require sponsors?

The cruise is not a cruise anymore because it is IMPOSSIBLE to cruise due to the stop and stop and stop and go traffic of it, but thats just what makes it all the more awesome, how popular it is to become so stop and stop and stop and go.

The name change sucks... ok you are sponsoring it, but like Ryan said the name doesn't need to change, it sounded stupid as hell.

That's all it was the last time I went 6 years ago. The preceding week isn't bad tho. I went out a few years ago on a wednesday or something. Had fun.

Without sponsors who pays for things like clean up (before and after) and Police Over Time, etc? They still count on hundreds of volunteers and there is a ton of work that goes into this event year 'round.

A friend of mine organizes the Michigan Ave. Cruise, he works full time hours all year round to make that event happen. It is tougher than you might think :cheers:
