ok. my daughter has to do a presentation at school on early explorers.Sebastion Cabott to be exact and im looking for props. a wooden ships wheel would work well. any idea where i could get one local? Borrow would be best, as i wont need it after this. any other prop ideas would be great also. Thanks

A real wooden ship wheel will be tough to get, even just to borrow one, due to their high value. They have fake ones, but they definitely don't look early explorer. As far as prop ideas....maybe something navigational like a telescope, a chart, a sextant, a ship log, etc. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the ideas. im sure your right about finding a real wheel. but this is 5th grade so im sure a fake one would be ok,its just for effect.

She's learning that in 5th grade, wow. Maybe I did too and I just don't remember, lol!

Party City has a nice pirate section with cheap party favors like ship wheels and telescopes. Joanne Fabrics has a lot of stuff like that also for kids.
