My uncle just finished a ground up restoration on this beautiful pre war higgins run about I dont know the exact year but its circa 1930. hundreds and hundreds of man hours and passionate attention to detail and this is the end result.

very cool, my step dad's brother in law is a loaded mo-fo who lives out in cali and collects/restores old wood boats like that. he had/has a bunch of chris-crafts and Garwoods like those. some of them worth a crap load of money

No Carriers, but two boats that were just as important to the war.

Higgins built the LCVP (Landing Craft Vehicle, Personel) You may have seen pictures of them They were the boats used in Normandy to bring troops to the shore.

They also built a rather famous torpedo boat known as "P.T." Boats :D

There is only one american WW1 veteran still alive His Name is Frank Buckels he was a ambulance driver.
