Woke up to bird trying to break in

Even as I type this the same bird keeps crashing into the side of the house. I bet windex would be proud. Sometimes I hear a louder thud when it has picked up more speed.

My grandparents have the same problem. I guess it still tries to get in.

We have a birdfeeder in the frontyard. When it gets empty the redwinged blackbird sits on top of the hook and chirps/squalks, etc. Almost like yelling at us to fill it up when we are outside. :lol:

Well yesterday I am sitting on the couch and a freaking cardinal comes to the window near me and lands outside on the sill. Then he pecks at the window. I was laughing and wondering if the blackbird put him up to it. Lo & behond the feeder out front was empty. :lol: Crazy animals.
 
If the window opens this is what you do. Open window, stick plastic grocery bag outside leaving only one handle inside, close window to hold bag in place. It will scare him away. Has worked everytime at out house.
 
It was funny at first but for 3 hours this morning this bird kept banging against the window, now I just want to kill it.
 
If you lived closer you could borrow my dog. Once they bounce off the window she eats them as they recover their balance. Kind of a Darwin thing in action.

There's a redwinged blackbird on base that would eat out your hand. We called him Charlie. You could hold a cracker with your thumb and forefinger and he'd fly up to it and take it mid flight. They are pretty cool. He would sit up on a power or telephone wire (whatever) and squawk to let you know he's hungry.
 
It's a cardinal thing... I lived in an apartment years ago and this Cardinal use to fly into the window at 6:00 am... I wanted to kill the thing! I did some research and it turns out that it thinks his reflection is another Cardinal and it's trying to attack the other bird. Cardinals are mean birds and their instinct tells them to attack. Let me see if I can dig up some proof.
 
That makes sense, almost every day this has been happening and it's been a fairly reliable alarm clock.
