Wiring mess!

These are pics from a car I'm working on right now. These are things to look out for, pretty much everything you see here is a fire hazard:

This was hidden under the knee board:

I'm going through the entire car and fixing any problems that I find. This car is keeping me pretty busy!

This isn't nearly as bad as some cars I've seen. A few years back I rewired a car for a guy. It was a Buick GN. I guess the car was passed from owner to owner and pretty much every one of them put a different stereo system in. There were speaker wires run everywhere! Some speaker wire was being used as power wire also, I just love seeing that...

Agreed.....my orange car was full of speaker wire being used to power things....

Douche Bags!

Holy hell. Should have seen what I started with on the Mustang when I owned it!

Mine was just one big fire hazard-right Duke?
Did yours have wiring in it when you brought it to me? That was awhile ago, I don't remember!

Tonight I finished just about everything on that car. Runs good now and no more risk of the wiring bursting into flames. I'll post pics later.

Yep a lot was behind the dash.

This is my car (in case you missed my sarcasm earlier).

Joe (Duke) has been great keeping me informed since last week when I dropped the car off, and has explained everything he has done and more importantly why he has done it. I know there was alot more wrong then he anticipated (and me also), but I know its done right and I dont have to worry about it burning to the ground now.

I guess this is why you should pay people to do electrical, and not try to jimmy-rig shit yourself.

And just so we are clear not a single piece of electrical on the car was done by me, I guess thats what you get when you buy someone else's project. :hitfan:

haha. Not good. You'd think they theyd know better, but they don't. The hillbilly kid I bought my T/A from had taken a pair of shears and just cut off and threw out parts of, or full harnesses as he gutted the car. It took me over a month with a schematic tracing and terminating wires.
