wiring a msd 6al

im trying to wire a 6al in a 86 mustang .. the car has a carb now . i have a msd distb so that parts ez . i got the + and - hooked to the batt . the orange and black to the coil . what do i do with the coil wires from the car ?do i hook them up to the coil too?now i dont know where the little red /white wires go ... any help would be great.just neeed to get this wired in and the car should be running

the + coil wire from the car goes to the red wire of the MSD, white wire is unused with the mag pickup used

Make it simple on yourself. That little red wire, connect it to key on power, the old coil power wire should be just fine. Cut the white wire and tie it off, it's used for points style distributors and has no function when using a MSD distributor.
