Is the router pulling an ip from the modem? I would start by doing a factory reset on the router, and power cycle your modem. If it doesnt pull an ip, hook up directly to your modem, and write down the ip/gateway etc, and then put that info manually into the router. If all else fails, give me a call and I'll see if I can get over there to help you out. 586.404.3952

I've had WOW for 5+ years... and have used 3-4 wireless routers with it... all w/o issue.

WOW allows 3 IPs per customer/modem - it's most likely not a binding issue.

Make sure the previous owner didn't hard code the DNS server IP in the manual config. I would do a hard reset, maybe flash it with the latest firmware - it should work just fine.

When we moved in the house a few years back Wow came out to set up the internet, maybe this is what they did?
Thanks for the replies I will try a few things and get back..

OK looks like I need a firmware upgrade, The newer firmware for the router fixes modem compatibility issues...
sooo the firmware from the website is a TRX file, what program can I use to open this?
Thought I needed M.S visual basic but it did not work.

Normally, you would download the firmware (trx file?) to the hard drive on your PC. Then open your browser, connect to the wireless router, browse to the Admin screen, and follow the steps to upload a new firmware. The router should know how to deal with that file format.

I did a quick google search... looks like that may be an ASUS router? Hopefully you can can just flash the firmware from within the routers web interface... otherwise, you might need to setup a tFTP server.
