Winter Repair - 418" Turbo Mustang - E85

Update: I was able to get the motor pulled over the weekend and the outcome is about the best case scenario! It simply lifted the head gasket between cylinders 6, 7 and 8.

I'm going to drop off the heads to Superior and have them milled, valve job and springs checked. I'm also going to replace the motor mounts as they seem completley worn out. I also plan to send off the hot parts to QC Coatings for a freshin up as well as a trip to Tyler Crockets to flow the injectors.

I'm planning to take the heads out to Tyler Crockets. He has an injector flow bench so I can kill two birds with one stone.

Fryguy has a set of FelPro MLS's 1134 (which are the 4.180 bore) so not exactly what I wanted.... but too good of a deal to pass up.

Got the headers and crossover off to drop off at QC Coatings for a freshin up.

Went out to Tyler Crockett's to drop off the heads to have them freshened and flow the injectors to make sure they weren't the cause of the blown HG.

Hey what did u do with the turbo u took off is it a precision?????

I sold my old turbo to a Port Huron grudge racer who wishes to remain anonymous.

It was an Innovative Turbo ( no longer in business )

Innovative didn't manufacture turbos, so they bought an S400 from Borg Warner and modified the compressor housing to fit a garrett TV 88mm wheel.

The turbo was quite old school compared to some of the stuff out now.

trying to figure out if I should change my intake.

I can save roughly 14lbs.

PART # Weight
Edelbrock EFI Intake 29245 = 24.0lb
Edelbrock 90 Elbow 38493 = 5.6lb
Rails 350-3620 = 1.0lb
TOTAL 30.60

PART # Weight
TFS-R Lower = 24.0lb
TFS-R Upper = 20.0lb
Rails 350-3620 = 1.0lb
TOTAL 44.00
