Wingless FTMFL! Accident pics inside

So shortly after I started the wing or no wing thread, I decided to run out to jtcstrat's house. I'm headed north on I275 going roughly 58-60mph in the furthest right lane because its sprinkling out. Between 7 and 8 mile, I have a semi coming up on my left, roughly 65-70mph. Out of no where, my back end wiggles and kicks to the left. I try to correct and the back end kicks out to the right. Below is what happened next, arrows are from the back of the car to the front of the car.

At one point I was looking out of my driver side window and staring at the semi's headlights. I was fully aware of what was going on and was fuckin heel toeing and rolling the steering wheel trying to pull out of it. When I was staring at the headlights, I jumped on the gas and cocked the wheel, as can be seen by the sudden rotation after that point. The truck ended up smacking me in the fender and door. Tire/wheel, headlight, door handle, a pillar, even the cobra emblem on the fender are all intact. Basically, I'm looking at a fender, door, and side view mirror so far.

Honestly, it could have been a hell of a lot worse and I feel very lucky to be alive. Thanks to jtcstrat for coming out and waiting with me until the cops showed up and still hangin out, lol  It'll get fixed, might be springing for an 03/04 rear bumper too, we'll see. Right now I'm just bummed because it won't be at the livernois car show tomorrow. As for resale value and all that bullshit, I don't really care. I bought the car to drive and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. Its just a car, not heart broken in the least, just happy I walked out of it.

sorry to see and hear that.. but i am sure that not having the spoiler didn't cause the spin.. it's not nascar with the aerodynamics.. good luck getting that thing back together it's a badass looking cobra

That sucks man, but the good thing is your safe and all that good shit.

Could have been A LOT worse I would say. Hopefully it is just cosmetic, but there will probably be some underlying damage to either the A pillar down by the hinges, cowl section, or the upper frame rail. Any more detailed pics of the door to 1/4 gap, hood to cowl gap, and maybe the hood to fender gaps?

All in all I would feel really lucky man, seemed like a pretty hairy situation.

I'm not blaming the wingless, it was just a coincidence.

The door opens like nothing ever happened, cowl is fine, the fender damage is maybe 3-4 inches into the body, which is all just vacant space behind the fender. I highly doubt there is frame rail damage. No detailed pics right now, its dark out, but I can take more. The hood never moved, completely fine. The hood to fender gap is maybe 1/16 - 1/8 inch thinner than before.

Yea, I wasn't sure how bad it was. When I finally stopped, I was facing traffic. I pulled off and just sat there for a few, made some calls. Think you could hit it with the wheel, Matt? haha. Jon and I planned on coming out but plans changed suddenly.

Not sure yet, I have to wait for the claims adjuster to call me on Monday. Not sure if I can get a payout or not, we'll see how it goes. I've heard good things about a few people who work on the side and I'm all for helping the little guy so if there's a payout, that's the direction I'll probably go.

Thats cool man. From my experience I would probably do that or take it to a smaller very reputable shop than a big high volume place. Might take a little longer, but trust me you will be happier in the long run. I worked at a shop in Plymouth that does A1 work if your looking for somewhere let me know. Good luck man, and BTW, keep her wingless :specool:
