Need to replace my Durango windshield. First time doing this. Anyone have any hassle free recommendations? I've got a $100 deductible on my policy. Heard most places will Waive this.

Thanks for any leads.

Toms Autoglass (I think it is on 21/Gratiot)

I used to recommend them all of the time when I worked at the Volvo dealership. Always seemed to have good results.

Belle Tire was pretty painless. Cheaper than Safelite or anyone else that I called, plus they have a $20 coupon on the website.
Make sure you specify whether you want clear glass or sunshaded. For some reason, clear glass can be hard to find.

Not sure about the deductible - honestly, I don't think it's worth even talking to insurance about.
BT did my Tahoe for < $200.

If you insist on OEM glass, the cost will be 2-3x that. But honestly, as frequently as I get stone chips, I wouldn't even bother with OEM glass.

Yep toms just did my cherokee....no money out of pocket and didn't even make an appointment

Any place that does windshields should be able to take care of it through insurance. Waiving a deductible has more to do with how much the shop you choose is able to charge the insurance company than anything. The the preset insurance price has little markup, there's not much they can do to waive an additional $100 if they're only making say $75. They obviously wouldn't eat $25 just to put a windshield in your car.

Also, if you have State Farm it might be a little more difficult to find someone to waive it for you.

I used to go to a place on M59 that I think is called Simbol or something like that. Costs about $200 cash for a windshield. I upped my comp deductible to $500, and now I just get them all done there. $100 deductible is nice, but if you only replace one every 2 or three years, it is cheaper to pay cash. That was with both Progressive and Liberty Mutual.

I too used Simbol back in 2014. had the windshield
replaced in my ’06 GT by Simbol Auto Glass. They
come out to your home or office to replace it.

Simbol’s price was way better than everywhere
else I checked, $225 - $378. Simbol did it for
$190.80 installed & tax included – and the
guy that did it was great! Ask for Gibson.

Shit, I just gave Henderson glass $340 for a 14 Fusion.

Sent from my thumbs so expect spelling errors

I had safelite do one of my cars years ago. The quality was outstanding. There was many times (drove 100 miles of hwy a day) a rock would hit the window and I was sure there would be a chip. Never chipped.
