Its not that bad of a job. Make sure you use a Ford OEM heater core, and have the restirctor in the line.

well I'm using a after market aluminium core and if it doesn't hold up ill loop it cuz I'm never doing this again.ran out of day light gotta install the dash tomorrow

Well I have one you can do then. I'll bring the beer, pizza and parts. Just tell me what time. :)

Started out to do a core on my '88. That was a year and a stack of $50's ago. Did the A/C evap core at the same time. Never want to do that again! Does it matter which side you put the restrictor in?? I have to get me one of those....

well I know that I will definitely wont do that again but I do know that all my wires are good:)

Yeah, you want the restrictor on the top hose, or the hose that feeds onto the core, the input. Its there to slow down the flow into the core.

Don't know about the restrictor, do know I had to do my 86 hc a couple years back, looked in the manual, said to remove glove box liner, unless equipped with ac. I about crapped when I read on. I had the dash out when I swapped it but would never have thought you have to pull it to do that, nearly as fun as my winter S10 heater core! Good Luck.
