Who's been out fishing already this year - lets see some pics.

Damn Justin, that's a hog!

Yeah dude. When it ate, I knew it was big. When it turned broadside to me while I was fighting it, I knew it was going to be a once in a lifetime kind of fish. Though out there I'm sure I'll catch another one that size again.

I need a bigger livewell

Now is a good time for steelhead on the bigger rivers

Not quuuuuuuuuuite. But we are getting there. Going to get hot again next week so I wouldn't look for any fish yet. Mid Sept we'll get some singles moving in. I'm starting to tie some goodies this week for chrome.

They run in the Clinton during late October and early November. It's better than the spring run.

Yep. Big rivers should be starting to have them trickle in Mid September. I'm hoping to make a few weekend trips to the Grand this fall.

Ultra light on the Clinton is a hoot. Nothing like a steelhead on a 7ft ultra light and 4lb line. Just pray they don't book for the log jams

Sounds like a blast. I never had any luck in the Clinton last year. Got into a few pike but that was it. We will have to go together this season, you can show me the ropes.

Gotta crawl through the bugs and critters off the beaten path. Most people I see fishing out there don't venture too far from their parking space. Me and a couple friends walk the river bank for miles. Gotta follow the fish. I wear hiking pants, hiking boots, and lots of bug spray. Gotta watch out for them yellow jacket nests, too. They'll give you a bad day

You know I have a drift boat that could easily float to those spots. ;)

Gotta be careful though, that is one strange river. Seems about 50 new log jams crop up every day . One of my friends tried fishing in a kayak a couple of weekends ago, didn't bode so well lol.
