Who wants to do a drivetrain swap for me.....

Forget the Painless setup. You can use a 99+ F-body engine harness and just remove the extra wires. The Painless setup is $$ and last I knew it only worked with the (crappy) 1998 PCM. It's only slightly less stupid-easy to use original GM parts.

Last I looked at the foxbody swap questions you had to use part of one harness and hack it up. I'm just a big fan of plug and play. 98's are a pain but not impossible. Fine for his car. Anything serious is going to be using aftermarket anyways. I'm sure you can get it to work with the 99+ but its just going to take more wiring. Wiring hurts my head. :icon_redf

I love my Carb and front mount distributor fuck fuel injection....All i did was jet it time it and i have not touched anything in 5 months and its vary vary dependable with no problems .........Smooth good luck with Fuel injection because your going to need it. When you have a problem how are you going to figure out what the problem is ?? Are you going to have a ALDL port ?? I i`m so glad i got away from that stuff. Also out of 5 LS motors with the same specs mine made the most hp on the dyno and was the only one with a carb......Also remember 315plus won the LS shot out with his Ls carb and front mount distributor motor ?

can you do a carb and still run the stock coil pack set up?

did you find anyone to actually do it yet? how quick of a turn around do you expect or want?

Yes but its not as dependable and theres lots of people switching to the front mount distributor. I think its the 6010 MSD box that you need but goes bad alot. You also need to program it so i think you need a laptop ?

For a drag car I would go carb all the way. For a street car I would go EFI. JP's set up is pretty bad ass, but having to pull out a timing gun because the MSD boxes aren't worth a damn and change the timing every time to spray it is kind of gay. Drivability, MPG, and tuning is easier with EFI. But for something that sees very little street miles I would definitly go carb. Cheaper, simple.
