who is hiring at the moment?

degree in communications. intern at a tier 2 supplier. Ideally like a job in account management, program management/program development. I am not limited to just the auto industry. Thanks for all the help and suggestions so far

Sending a PM.

What is your friends name? I worked at dyno from 08-11 and during that time 2 people got hired direct. Not that those people did not deserve it but the were the total ass kissers. Doing a good job at Ford is like pissing your pants in a dark suit, you feel all warm and fuzzy but noone notices. I left that place as fast as I could. The company that I left to go to basically doubled my salary and hired me direct from kelly services after 3 months. I busted my ass and deserved it, but I also did the same at Ford (atleast for a while). Once it was pounded in our heads after numerous company wide meetings that there was not going to be direct hires I stopped giving a fuck. Before I left they were hiring guys that had ZERO experience in automotive. One guy was a former mortgage banker. He pointed at a water pump and asked if it was a turbocharger.

His name was Erik C.

You don't have to tell me - I know all about it. Even in the contract world, most of the people know each other. A guy asked me who I knew and was shocked when I said no-one. I am literally 1 of about 3 people out of our entire dept. that got hired without any connection at all.

And you couldn't be more right - even in our dept. It's all who you know. Some of the best people just get stepped on and over while people who don't even deserve to be employed get some awesome breaks. That's just part of the culture here I guess. But there are ways around it. I wanted to leave early on but now that I've learned the game I love my job. I really don't have any complaints. The culture of "throwing under the bus" got me in trouble early on. You got to learn that sometimes finding and working toward a resolution isn't as important as covering your ass and making sure the hard rock isn't on your desk when it comes time for answers.

Best des ription ever. I worked in EVB FOR 4 YEARS. Never a comeback or problem, took on multiple durability builds and programs, perfect reviews every year. Only to be reminded only the connected and kiss ass' get hired.

Yeah. Roush took over all the Kelly mechanic jobs around 07-08. think

07, they let go 82 techs and turned over the garage to Roush. It used to be an awesome job, and the pay wasn't too bad.

yeah, I left EVB in 2005, out at ATNPC now, getting paid more then I was at EVB, better atmosphere, still political, but the only contract mechanics here are Kelly, only a couple ford guys, tho mfor the first time in like 7 years they just direct hired a couple guys, and with as many long time ford emplyees as are here, I suspect they will be direct hiring many more in the next 5 years

Check out where I work. Link Engineering. They have a career tabs on the website
I worked for Nisshinbo when I was in college and we used a lot of Link Engineering dynos. When things wouldn't work, we'd have to literally hard reset everything and it was known as a "Link Boot." I guess that was the first step in any troubleshooting process.

ZF is hiring and had solid pay and benefits based on some discussions I had with them/2 jobs I was offered there.

Getrag (had an offer from them too) and GKN were both hiring too. GKN might not be anymore, they hired a few fresh out of college kids as AWD calibrators recently though.

You can suspect all you want, they arent hiring people for those kind of jobs. They make more money and have less responsibility when they have contract houses do all there recruiting and benefits handling

You worked there same time I did, who's group were you in.

im actually the same distance from the service drive. There is an ongoing battle apparently between the owner of LINK and some engineers at Ford over parking spaces. Tey had rows blocked off for Link people only and some ford guys kept parking there, so they blocked off the lot, forcing everyone at ford who was using links overflow lot to park a block away now and walk.
