White Out's engine build thread...

i did an oil change/test drive on an 05 scoobydoo legacy GT, 2.5 turbo automagic, today at work. i will give subaru props, that car had some serious balls for what it is. too bad it ate the inside edges of both front tires down to the cords, other than that it handled great.

Started and it ran great. One of the coolant line clamps was loose, so I got sprayed. But we had a lot of extra coolant/water handy and I tightend up the fitting.

Got a new map and the car is going on the streets of GR tonight! Gotta log some miles/info to get the new set up ready...

thats the biggest cluster fuck of a engine ive ever seen

but i bet she hauls

You have NO IDEA!!! I did a new motor for a friend's Subaru and the engine block is like a VW, and putting the short block together is a pita. I ended up paying the machine shop to do it because you have to assemble the block with the crank in the block with the rods ON the crank but WITHOUT the pistons. You have to install the pistons to the rods through some plugged holes in the crankcase.

Such a cluster but they sound good and make nice power with the right turbo.

BTW White Out Looks SWEET. Good Job! :rockwoot:
