White lake casualty!!

Apparently this happened at 4am this morning, and ummmm, alcohol was a factor!! She went down in between two islands right in front of the White lake inn, in a spot that never freezes.
It's actually sitting on the ground. The water in between the islands is only ankle deep, but drops off sharply on the one side. Keep in mind, the ENTIRE lake was open water 2 weeks ago!!!
Just thought I would share. I'm not sure how the fuck they will get it out but I will post more pics if I am there to witness it.

On a side note: I've always heard it was $1000 a day fine from the DNR if you kerplunk something, due to the gas/oil, etc. This is gonna end up to be one expensive assed night for this poor guy!!

getting it out, hmm, either drag it from shore, breaking the ice all the way out(will totally trash the body, but probably cheapest), meduim/heavy lift helicopter will lift it ok, but not cheaply

They had to cancel an ice drags race somewhere around Jackson. I guess some clown in a big ass truck went through. It was on AMSNOW. :shake:

I don't even like walking on ice. I don't care if it's 12 foot thick.

We went up to TC one year riding. We had to cross a couple lakes. My ass was puckered the entire time. A few open water spots. Hold the throttle and keep the weight off the ski's.

First of all, what are you doing on amsnow???
Second, there aren't too many lakes in Mich. that would be over your head if you fell through anyways!!!

I agree with ya though!! I'm REALLY cautious about ice. I fell through on my sled a couple of years ago on white lake. It was only chest deep, but it scared the shit out of me and was a total PITA to get the sled out!! And to top it off, it was on my birthday!!
I'll post some pics, in a few, of that mess!!

My Boss and an old co-worker use to have drag sleds. They got me going on the site. Everyonce in a while I'd run up to Park Lake or Anchor Bay and watch them run.

You might know the dude that built the sleds. He was from your side of town. His name is Doc Fang

I'm pretty sure Doc worked on my dads 2 drag sleds. He knows his shit.

On a side note, my brother sunk an F7 in lake orion 2 years ago in about 15 ft of water at night. Luckily someone on shore saw him go down and called 911 right away.. scary shit.

Doc has built some fast shit. I'd love to have him build a Golf Kart for me. I think he built Mario's and the one Nozzle had. IIRC

Oh yeah, I know of Doc Fang, don't know him personally, but he builds some badass shit!!! One Stop Jim seems to be the king out here!! That fucker always seems to stay a step ahead of everyone else!!

Drinkin' beer and watchin' 250-300 horse sleds go down the ice= Good Times!!!

Who would dress nice to go to the White Lake Inn??:dunno::lol:
Must be one of my neighbors out for a big night on the town!!

It wouldn't matter how it's towed out. A total loss is a total loss. If he was driving it (vs just sitting on the ice), the engine is hydrolocked. And with the water level up to the dash panel, no one will fix it. Next stop, the auction yard with a salvage title.
