Looking at Autozone and they show a Flepro teflon seal and a Felpro rubber seal..Which is the better seal?Gotta change it because its dripping BAD ....
teflon is a better seal made to last a long time but harder to install in my opinion. Id honestly just stick with the plain old rubber seal.
The crank savers work great if the seal surface on the crank is grooved up. another fix is to use a seal with a off set lip but those are harder to find.
Thanks so much for the replys guys..Its been so long that I couldn't remember which one I used...As for the sleeve,i'll get it incase the crank has a groove..If not,i'll take it back...Thanks again everyone ..
I have to ask.. what's going on with your pcv/evac? The reason I ask is if one or both aren't operating correctly your oil pressure will build up in the crankcase and cause seal issues. Post some underhood pics for me.
I already picked up the seal ..Got the sleeve too but will take it back if I don't need it..
Mike,
Its the rear main for sure..I already changed the PCV valve and went through the whole top end of the engine which is bone dry..
it was ready to go when I got the car but was hoping it would hold off until the season was over which didn't happen..
Bad input shaft bearing in my tremec trans and trashed TO bearing didn't help either lol..Around 4 grand, she has a vibe so for the most part,I was super nice to it shifting around 3500 RPM..About to put it up on stands and pull the trans then replace the rear seal, then put my extra trans in until I get the parts for the Tremec...
Its ALWAYS something man and I can't disagree with that video LOL..
