Where's my anti-freeze going??

I've owned my 2004 avalanche (5.3)for a few months now. I have to keep adding anti-freeze to it. I've got no leaks, no water in the oil, and no smoke from the exhaust. In my experience, if you're losing anti-freeze, one of those things is happening. Any ideas?

I had an intake gasket leak on my 1997 Chevy and it was getting sucked through the motor with no smoking or anything. That would be my guess as to where it is coming out.

good call badair. there is no coolant in the intake! if a gasket did fail it would be a water pump one, those are easy to change too. I have heard of guys getting holes in the overflow tube or tanks itself. The steam tubes on the heads might have failed but I highly doubt that.

keep looking for some fluid somewhere

Good stuff guys. I'll check again for residue on the motor. If it is the water pump gasket, wouldn't I see the anti-freeze in the oil?
