Where is everyone getting music

Blockbuster, not sure I remember that so much...I think so, I was thinking Sound Warehouse.

They had 2 of them in a reasonable distance from me. Auburn/Rochester Rd and M59/Hayes. They didnt last very long for some reason, but they always had everything. I went to them more than Harmony House simply because you could demo any album you wanted, not just the latest top 40 at the listening stations like Harmony House had. It was a very good way to discover new music in the pre-internet days.

I all ways enjoyed going to the place called "Peach's" back in the day when ever I was traveling and one was near by.

Now that we're on the subject, does anybody know of any good record stores on the east side? Bums me out that Record Time closed. I have a new audio project (tube phono preamp) planned for the winter, and will need some good vinyl to relax with.

pre-internet? yeah right, is that like a betamax, or laser disc?

Well...the time before most people didnt have internet access . Laser disc > DVD...well for sound quality anyway. Laser disc was the last A/V medium to have uncompressed audio. If you were to watch Jurassic Park on LD vs DVD, itll sound like somebody took the cotton balls out of your ears ;).

You got that right about LD. I was one of the foolish that dropped huge coin on a player when they came out. I had a Pioneer CLD-M403 and that thing was over $1300. Then the dam down fall of the lack of disc's from the artist's for music audio. My favorites were Jurassic park and backdraft in my collection. They sure showed how 5.1 surround was done and a 100 watt Yamaha sub moved my place dam fine.

I'm happy with iTunes. I like a lot of older stuff and they've had discounts on some good stuff. A free mini album of Bob Seger stuff and a good deal on Beatles stuff. Fair and reasonable.
