Where did they go?

That's Pat, he's a cool guy.. his vette runs good, over the years everything just is getting faster but 2-3 years ago that twinvette was a bad bitch.
..

I know Pat... He is a cool guy that's why I was yanking his chain. Two years ago I ran into him with my old white notchback on Woodward the week of the dream cruise. I'm quite sure he will remember the car if asked about it;)

I haven't heard from nick in two years now. He found Motown Muscle due to me, he was my next door neighbor for quite a few years...good kid.

I used to see Nick on Myspace a lot when I used to use that. Haven't seen him on here in a while though. He was a good kid, used to hang out with us on Woodward all the time.

I remember he made a dramatic thread that he was leaving MM....then after quite some time came back and made a few posts, then took off again.

Johnny still posts.

The level of douchebaggery and stupidity the majority of the posters here have reached keep a LOT of people from posting like they used to. Also the reason why so many MM "regulars" don't attend events.

So many comments, so little time

Most of the old timers sold the cars and found new hobbies. Between that, and most of us having kids now, MM is not a high priority. If I had any kind of social life, I probably wouldn't post either

You're too easily irritated.

Maybe, just maybe the whole excitement and novelty of the Internet is wearing off.

I really tend to agree with Al on this. There's been a whole different level in which the board used to be. For some of them it's fine. For some I feel they got sick of it and decided to go to other sites.

I will say there is less focus on cars, and instead more of a broad range of discussions. Theres paintball, gym, home remodeling, landscaping, photography, gaming, computer tech, family, dogs, health, porn, politics, etc etc... I wouldn't so much call it stupidity and douche baggery -- but different people interested in different things. Some of the old schools might not like the direction the forum has gone but they forget that everyone here does share one common love - one of motorsports.

If people left because they didn't like the discussions that were occurring, then more power too them. Orrr the other solution would have been to ignore what they were not interested in...

It's happened on several occasions, with people threatening to leave or whatever because of the direction of the site.

I'm afraid it's the sad truth, many of us are 'growing up' and now have a life outside of the site, and for a lot of people it may just not appeal to them anymore. I come here because I enjoy the community, and there is great camaraderie on here.

Yup. I come here because theres a large number of people here who share the same values and hobbies as myself. Theres also sort of a family attitude around here of people wanting and willing to help each other out....even though sometimes its a bit of a dysfunctional family... :D

And with the "family feel" those discussions are going to happan. Families can't just function on one adjenda, can they? If you feel this has become a family type community then you feel compelled to share things beyond the main reason this site was created.....everyday life. For me, i like that part of this site, it allows you to see more than one dimension of the people you share a hobby with. Maybe find another common hobby you enjoy and get to expand on the friendship you already started with people. I feel if this site would have only stayed on the one track of car discussions only, it would not be what it is today. Maybe i'm wrong, and i haven't been here since the beginning. But evolution is the king of all exsistance. Some like it, some don't. Even with all the "off topic" discussions, i still think that cars is 75% of this sites being.

Disclamer: Just my opinion posted on a public forum for the sole purpose of discussion and opinion based venting. Not intended to hurt ones feeling or step on toes. Thank you!

I hope to see everyone again at the yearly MM family reunion at the usual Woodward lot! Already thinking of next year's cruising season...
