wheel bearing

one of my front wheel bearings is going.
i am being told 2 separate methods of diagnosing if it is the left or the right side confusing me on which part to buy.
the noise goes away when steering to the left.
isn't that the right front side wheel bearing then?

My right rear wheel bearing went out in my Saturn. I could hear a noise when I would turn right sharply. You know transferring the weight off of that wheel. I didnt know at the time that the right side was bad, I thought it was the left side. Ended up taking both wheels off and the right one would make a noise while spinning.

so the noise stops when i turn left, so i thought the right side was bad and so did everyone that i talked to about it. so i spent about 45 min and changed the whole hub assembly on the right. noise was still there. so i swapped out the new one from the right to the left and the problem was fixed.

I dont trust that method of if you go this way then its this one bs. The way I have always diag'd them is by jacking up the front end and spinning the wheel by hand while holding the spring, you can feel the vibration the bad bearing causes through the spring. Spin both sides and the one with more vibration is the one that is bad

Usually the bad bearing is on the inside of the race so according to that theory if it got quieter when you turned left it would the the drivers side bearing.
