Just wanted to see what some honest opinions are on what my car is worth...

1998 z28
140k miles MI car
Best 1/4 time: 12.12 (240 lb driver)
Best 1/8 time: 7.73 (240 lb driver)
Pro tune

BBK Intake, Big cam (TSP MS4), 3600 Stall (Yank), Weld pro star wheels, UMI adjustable suspension out back, Pacesetter long tubes, ORY, TSP rumbler cat back, lid, line lock, battery relocated to trunk.

Lots of supporting mods: high pres oil pump, katech timing chain, arp rod bolts, solid motor mounts, poly trans mount, big trans cooler w/ electric fan. !EGR, !AIR

Paint is excellent for a 140k mile MI car. Needs new rear tires, has some chipped teeth on the flex plate so the starter sometimes clicks when it hits those teeth.

Full interior, working AC and heat, radio, cruise control.

Parting the more expensive mods might work out in your favor. A used yank goes for $500 but it doesnt really add $500 to the price of the car as it sits. Same for headers, suspension, cam, ecm??

Pop in a stock cam, converter, ecm, exhaust manifolds, torque arm, and it may still fetch a decent dollar amount. Assuming you have those stock pieces.. $6000+ otherwise!

Who tuned the car and what did it make? My car with similar mods (longtubes, MS4 cam, LS6 intake) went 11.70s with a stock 2.73 geared 10 bolt? Seems like it's not running as hard as it should.

Was originally a Dr. Phil tune but now it's a Sam Miller tune (Sam is basically the Dr. Phil of Dallas).

Keep in mind it's a 98 with those crappy 98 heads. If yours was 99+ I'm not surprised.

I tend to kind of give my stuff away, but I sold a very clean NBM '98 Formula with about 70,000 miles for $7,000 - about 7 years ago, so basically when it as about 7 years old. Your car has double the miles and double the age and I don't know how much the mods help the value. So I guess it's worth what someone is willing to pay! I'm sorry, I know that is of no help, I'm just thinking out loud.

Does seem like there is some performance hiding somewhere in your car with the mods you have. My Formula, stone stock except for a lid, with the crappy '98 heads and 2.73 gears went a best of 13.26 at 106 mph.

Anyway, if you sell it...GLWS!!

4,800-5,000. That is a lot of miles.

This too. These cars usually are ticking timb bombs over 120k with internal mods IMO. Mine ran hard up until the day it let loose at 109k. Especially 98 engines for whatever reason, they like spinning rod bearings.

I disagree on ticking time bomb. This motor has never seen over 6k RPM and is built for 7k. 98 engines spin bearings or blow up cams because the oil plumbing in the block is terrible compared to it's successors. I've got some insurance against that with the high pressure oil pump in there.

I bought a 98' with 136k on it, put heads and cam, and it ran great for 13k miles. I removed the motor and sold it for like 1k at 149K miles. Ran awesome when sold.

Why are you selling? I've been thinking about trading my Z06 for something like this plus pay off and building a single turbo lq9.
