what would you do? on the fence

No time. They all work 50-70 hours per week, go to school, have kids, and volunteer at the soup kitchen.
Plus knitting can be dangerous. Have you ever poked your finger with one of those needles? The ER bills would add up.
No need to risk that sort of injury when boating is exciting, practically free and no maintenance is involved. And best of all their screaming brats can go with them.

All kidding aside, I always sort of thought one of the great parts of racing (drag or road) was that the adults could leave their wives/kids at home and actually go out and enjoy themselves.

It's not knitting, it's crochet. Much safer. ;)

BUT you have never taken your 1000hp turbo LS Mustang down the track yet ?? right ? That might be a bigger adrenaline rush ?

Doubtful bigger, different. That lasts 8 seconds. Go run a boat WOT in 2-3 footers at 85 for 20 minutes. Just different.

And with road-racing it's 20 minutes every hour all day.

is there really a big difference between the ss a and a z28? The ss I have been able to find are crazy $. While I do love a ss, as long as it is a drop top, 6 speed, with chrome zr1 I'd be pretty happy. I do love the duck bill spoiler on a ss though

It's appearance only with the addition of the ram air and some had the SLP exhaust. It's simply the cosmetics of the car that I love. The hood and spoiler really set it off.

Bill, the thing is with race cars is that there is always somebody faster. Buy yourself a nice street car and have some fun with it. If you are looking at an LS1 over on the east side, let me know and I can help you out - I have been through a few LS1's in my day.

A daily DD for sure. I picked up a vette late summer. I wish I woulda got it sooner. Being able to hop in and go blast wherever I feel and not have to worry about something going wrong with the car is awesome. being able to have the AC full blast. I miss it. My WS6 went from one extreme to the next SO fast..although I have a ton of fun racing it, and it being a car not a lot of people expect. I feel I lost a lot of just crusing around enjoying the car. It was race, fix, upgrade, race, upgrade, fix ect.

By that logic you should never have sex because there is always someone else better looking.

I have fun with my cars knowing full well that there are many many people with faster cars.

im a fan of a street car that can be used on the track....or is it track car on the street???

Or maybe I should never post on the internet because there is always a dochebag around the corner.

I didn't read every page, but I'm exactly where you are at---literally! lol

Do the mild street cruiser. Still will give you a little fun on the side when you get a minute and be fun for the family, cruise for ice cream, etc. Keep your Malibu and keep plugging away on it. Take whatever number you think you need to finish it and triple it!!! lol

Last word of advice (coming from experience)---don't start modifying said street cruiser---lol! Just enjoy it and keep progressing on the real animal. Good luck!

But if you win a $1,000 in that 8 seconds it could get to be real fun.....ask Phil at straightshotperformance with the white turbo blazer, he is having a blast and he is getting payed togo racing...

Did the boat thing about 10 years ago and we would head out to gull island on Thursday evening and hang out with the race boats and race sometimes , that was fun...

Mild street cruiser for sure. After having the kiddo - my priorities changed. Granted, I never had a drag car, just an obnoxiously loud street car. I got rid of it because it wasn't family friendly.

I have a nicely built Camaro SS for sale, 9 inch rear end, built 6.0 and a Detroit Gearbox built 4l60e
