We are driving to Florida and taking my boys to Disney World next friday. We will be there for 7 days. I have never been there so I was looking for some advise on what to do while down there. We are going with my brother and sister inlaw and their parents. So 2 of the nights will be "adult" time. Any suggestions???:icon_smil

Johnny's restaurant across the street from the entrance of Disney on the strip. A little pricey but great food and atmosphere. I eat there every time I'm in Orlando

I took a vacation in February down there and drove to Orlando for a day trip. We went to Sea World, which was actually pretty damn cool. I didn't spend much time in the city outside of there but there is a big strip of hotels and I think I remember seeing a few bars there as well. It's definitely no South beach but I'm sure you can find somewhere.

Check the House of Blues schedule before you go and see if there is a good show going on while you are down there. It is near Universal Studio's.

I went 4 times last year, if you can't find something to do you're comatose lol
I generally end up in City Walk at night. HOB is near Downtown Disney, complete opposite side of International Drive.
They and Hard Rock Coliseum (I think they call it Hard Rock Live now) are the two places to see some good shows while you're in town.
If you can spring for a night at the hard rock hotel (even if you don't use the room) you can valet at the hotel, they have a few bars in the Hotel that are happening along with the bad ass pool bar and as a bonus the room keys work as unlimited all access fast passes for Universal.
The ones you buy at the park are only good once per ride per day.
Room keys are unlimited and work for a minimum of two days (check in date and check out date and as many days in between as you have the room)

International drive is filled with stuff to do.
Pretty much, just drive up and down until you find something fun. My girl and I, we're not a nightlife kinda people and enjoy the touristy and fun stuff kids would also like. All we need is kids  But we've had a ball doing Sea World, haunted houses, water park, science museums, etc.

Universal Studios – Much better than Disney’s movie park, MGM. Like the other big parks, its gonna cost big bucks.

Old Town – The have a great car show every Friday & Saturday.
A lot of fun things to do & see there. Many free things.

The Holy Land Experience - This place was great! It was also one of the better
deals as far as ticket prices went as well. If The Bible or Christianity interest you
at all, This place is a must see, quite incredible!

Disney Epcot – this is the best of several parks Disney offers. Unless you have very young kids, this is the best Disney deal.

Wet’n Wild – Hot? Ready to cool off? How about a giant outdoor water park? This place is a blast! It was a little crowded, but great fun nonetheless!

This is a photo from Old Town about 5 years ago. I don’t know
If they still have this down there or not, but this was a FREE pop
Station. You walk right up, grab a cup or fill your thermos. I think
It was Coke products. Why don’t we have cool things like this here?

Nice piano bar down there with dueling pianos. Lots of stuff on International. There is a Titanic exibit...

Titanic, the Experience...
I used to take my kids down there every weekend when I lived in Ocala. Good places to take the kids are the Ripleys museum, then there is another oddities museum right next store. Old town is a cool place too. Think they have a car show every Friday or Saturday night. Lots of nice cars and cool stuff for the kids.

I thought Old Town was pretty cool to hang at for a while. Though I've only been that one time...

I've been to old Town many times & I agree, it was very nice to check out
and hang around. Swifster simply doesn't realize what a nice place he has in
his backyard, that or its simple because he's Swifster :dontknow:

A lot of the really cool stuff they use to have at Race Rock, is now
at Old Town. It really is to bad Race Rock closed. That place was
sooooooooooo cool.

I have some photos from there I'll have to post. words won't do
that place justice!

Race Rock was cool when it was on Groesbeck. Driving to Florida to go there it just wasn't as cool, especially when none of the staff had any idea it was from here lol

Kennedy Space Center isn't that far of a drive due east if you're into NASA stuff. Take the 528 BeeLine, if I recall correctly. Worth the drive.

Also, Epcot is more an adult place than kids, IMO. Good place to grab dinner, do some walking through the countries, beers, etc. Or you could play the "beers around the world game" if you're really looking to drink - 1 beer at each country.

NASA closes down around 5:00PM.

I've been to Old Town enough where I just look at it as tacky. If you've neer been there you might like it. Friday night is import/late model night. Saturday is '72 and older. EPCOT is a good night time spot. Daytona Beach is an hour to the north.
