what to do ? , car dealer issue

I had a similar issue with a local Lincoln dealer here in my area, the car we bought was purchased with an extended warranty from Ford and it was still a nightmare getting them to repair it properly. The car ended up having a bad transmission, they gave me the run around for months.

Only advice I can give is keep putting pressure on them, social media is also powerful tool. No dealer wants reviews out there of nightmare stories and keep away reviews.

my girls CPO terrain was a nightmare too, and she bought the additional GM warranty. she went jan/feb in grand rapids without HEAT because nobody would fix it.

Had to pull teeth to get GM to locate a dealer to replace her timing setup that was rattling.

Now they're replacing the entire engine because it is consuming like 1.5 qts per 1000 miles. She had to raise hell and fight them every step of the way.

She paid a huge premium for CPO and also for the additional warranty. She could have gotten the same truck from a private seller for like 5-6k less but she paid extra for the security. It's finally getting fixed, but damn, they make you play hell. Car has stalled in traffic since she bought it and they keep telling her it's the oil. WTF?!

took it to an actual Lincoln dealer this morning , Lincoln dealer check it out and did a full inspection , they stated that this vehicle seems like its been well cared for witch makes me feel a little better , only thing that showed up was the air bag light issue , Lincoln quoted us 2100 to fix the issue , they need to replace the passenger seat rails and its the pressure sensor like ive thought this whole time , 2100 to fix thow seems like its really going to be a PITA to get these people to fix it , and trust me I will be setting traps and taking video and pics of the dash board before we take it in so they don't pull no shit and just tape over the light or anything like that

That sucks man.
The learning lesson here is not to accept delivery of a vehicle with defects.
The fact that they were selling a car with an air-bag light on says everything.
It's not like they didn't know and if it was a quick/simple/cheap fix they would have done it before listing the car.

called the dealer I got it from with the findings from the Lincoln dealer , 2170 is the exact price Lincoln quoted us , the guy at the dealer flipped ,( well we told you not to get it fixed anyware else but here ) , im like dude I didn't get it fixed it was just a safety inspection , now I voided my warranty somehow , but I did say well you guys sold me a car with faulty airbags and Michigan state law says that's illegal , then that turned into a well let me talk to my mechanic and see what they say and call me tomorrow AM

That's horseshit... Start documenting everything... Also you might want to bring in the BBB and state... They will rip their asshole out from their nose if your complaint is legit(Not saying it isn't)...

X2 once the state in involved you'll get some action one way or the other.

Typical shady fuck dodging customers. Something tells me he's used to dealing with fired up people.

BBB does nothing for you. First off the majority of people don't look at BBB until it's too late. Secondly the BBB is at most a mediator. I had a problem with a moving company. Went to BBB. Went back and forth for a month. At the end BBB said my case was legit, but the company just refused to do what they were supposed to (Repair damaged goods and move all my shit). BBB told me to get a lawyer if I wanted to pursue further, but the cost was only $1500. Kim started to help but got caught up in real work and it never went anywhere. The state is likely a different story. AG will likely get things sorted real quick, but don't count on the BBB doing anything other than shrugging and saying, sorry about your luck".

Well.... it sure would be a shame if you accidentally drove thru their building and the airbag didnt deploy due to a shitty sale from them... lol jk.

Keep us updated. I would maybe talk to a lawyer.

Go in, face to face (to the dealer) and ask why it isnt getting fixed. Something to the tune of "scared for my family's safety" and get a bit loud in front of other customers. That might light a small fire. If they tell you to drop the car off and they will fix it, stop in unannounced to document the pics/repair process. Demand the old part (a repair shop has to legally provide you with it unless there is a core fee)

ended up finding the issue myself , got it fixed for the price of 1 zip tie ,.,., ended up being the crash sensor for the passenger seat , im betting something was put under the seat and pulled out and the sensor came with it , it just clips to the bar of the seat rail , it wasn't very snug so I used a zip tie to hold it in place , works like a charm and no more airbag lights

still pissed the dealer didn't take care of it thow
