What size injector?

89lx

Well it's time to stop being cheap and upgrade my injectors. Car is a 1989 lx with a 308, afr 185's, f-cam, typhoon intake... The motor was built for nitrous so I will be running a 150 wet shot when I have the money to buy the kit. Just wondering if a 24# injector would do the trick or if I should go bigger? Any help is appreacited.

Thx.

The 24's might make it but they will really have to work, you should be able to find a set of 39# or 42# injectors for cheap.

You don't think the 39's or 42's would be over kill when just driving on the street without running the nitrous?

Well sure they will be more than you need NA, but do you plan to swap injectors evey time you want to spray?? They are not "overkill", if by that you are asking if driveability will be effected. 39's and 42's are an OEM size injector.

Was just wondering if they would make the car run to rich. Thx for the info.

Correct me if I'm wrong but running a wet kit you shouldn't need more injector as you are adding a fuel nozzle. So, why more injector for a wet kit ? A 24# will be pushing 90% duty cycle at 350 bhp (at the crank), a 30# injector will be better suited.

I'd run the 24's if you using a wet shot. Hoepfully its a direct port setup. Distrobution of fuel through the stock style intakes can get a bit hairy.

I have a stock bottom ended-302 w/ gt40x heads b-303 cam, bbk ssi intake and im running 30lb injectors w/maf calibrated for them of course and my cars runs pretty good being untuned(pulled plugs and they a little rich but not too bad) now without a doubt your flowing more air then me i would go with atleast 30lbers if not 36's, and a tune would def help. I wouldnt go 42's with a wet shot cause ur gonna add the fuel through a seperate fuel soleinoid
