What should an A4 H/C LS1 Idle at?

Just as the title states, Im curious on what an A4 H/C LS1 should idle at. Mine is supposedly set at 925 RPM, but is shows about 1000 on the tac

Depends on the cam/converter/heads/intake and TB.

mine idles at 850-900 and the tach is always at or over 1K, they are usually off.

my 6.0L is 700RPM's or lower. 1k is way too high, unless its a crazy cam.

yep those wild cams will do that.

one of the nasty byproducts of a low idles speed is that it drys out the rollers on the ends of the lifters at idle and with aggresive lobes and springs it can cuase premature lifter fialure and wear.
